You will have difficulties in further recording, if your storage goes empty. At times you may find your Flip is not allowing you to record, even though you “think” you have deleted everything off it, if that is the case, its time to reformat your device.

Create backup

Formatting your Flip will take off every stored data, so first thing you can do is create backup for every thing you need. Slide out your Flip’s USB and connect it to your PC. Launch My Computer, by the left hand panel, click the FlipVideo drop-down box. Press the “DCIM” folder icon and click the 100Video folder to reveal your Flip’s videos. Start coping the files to a desired location in your computer. Also browse to other folders in your camera drive and copy files if you want them.

Reformatting

After you finish the copy, you can go to the 100Video folder and select all files there and delete them. Also browse for other folders in your main Flip drive and delete their files too. Or you may simply launch My Computer then right click your Flip camera drive listed under the Removable devices section. Chose the Format option and this will open a new window, here to the bottom, you can find a Start button, click on it to initiate the reformat. Wait till your computer reformats your Flip drive. After you are done safely eject your Flip Camera by clicking the Removable Storage Device icon in the lower-right corner of the main Windows screen. Finally remove your camera from the USB port.

Provides flexible storage solutions for a wide variety of computing devices including digital cameras and music players, desktop computers, personal digital assistants, digital audio recorders, and photo printers. Possibilities are there, your card might get corrupted. You are provided with options to reformat your CF card. This will ultimately erase all the data on them, but will make them usable once again. Reformatting will also come handy when you want to simply delete every data stored to make room for new.

Formatting from your Computer

Insert the CF card in your card reader slot. Be sure to put it the right way or you might end up breaking the pin heads or the reading strips. If you are enabled with an auto play, the connected card will be displayed in a new window. Or you can directly launch My Computer and find the connected card under the removable devices section. To reformat, simply right click on the CF card icon and click the Format option. You will get a new window, and to the bottom, you can find the Start option, click on it to initiate the reformat.

Turn off your camera and open the card slot. Insert your CF card properly and seal the slot. Now turn on your camera and navigate to the main menu, and from there go to the Tools or Set-Up. If you not quite sure about where the Format option for your Camera is, go through the user guide and find it. Or you can simply explore your device to find it on your own. For most cameras, you can find the Format option by the Settings/ Tools or Set-Up. Locate the Format option and continue, if you are asked to confirm, press Yes and initiate the reformat. This may take a few minutes to complete, wait patiently till it is done.

Malware threats and the associated issues are the common reasons you need to reformat your Nokia E71. If your device is infected by malware programs, you may face one or multiple associated issues like performance trouble, frequent error messages, multi-tasking, application hang or freeze issues. Maybe your phone is too cluttered or messy, and want to delete off everything. Reformatting is a good choice then. You will need to do a separate memory card reformat as the memory card and SIM are left in the phone reformat.

Things to Do

I have listed two techniques to reformat of your Nokia E71- Hard format and Soft Format. Before starting, you need to create necessary backup for all your important data, as there would be data loss upon a reformat. Sync your Nokia E71 to the PC and start backing whatever you think are important. In order to prevent any possible data corruptions upon a reformat, always ensure you have necessary battery backup. A 30% of the available battery would be fine. Also, at the time of reformat, you will need to provide the correct Security Code a.k.a Lock Code.So keep the right code ready.

Hard Format

This technique makes use of key presses to initiate the reformat. Its very simple to do. Just switch off your device. Press hold the Green call button, Star(*) button, Three(3) button and then turn on your device. Be sure not to leave the key press, or you might need to start over again. You can see your phone reformatting, and the process may take a few minutes. Please wait patiently till its done. After this you can see your phone booting the way it did the first time. Select the time zone, set the date and time and start configuring your phone. It is completely reformatted.

Soft Format

Soft format is comparatively an easy reformat than Hard Format. You don’t need to press hold keys here. Simply close all applications running in the background, come to the standby screen and type in *#7370#. This will initiate the reformat, after you provide the Security Code. Just like Hard Format, you need to wait till your E71 completes reformatting and then start configuring.

Microsoft Word or the MS Word is an advanced word processor designed and developed by the Microsoft Corporation. The program is a component of the Microsoft Office, it is also available as standalone and included with the Microsoft Works Suite. The latest version of Microsoft Word are Microsoft Word 2010 for Windows and Microsoft Word 2011 for Mac. You can reformat your word document to fit in to few pages as possible. By this you can save the number of papers used, mostly when you have to take copies in plenty.

Delete all unnecessary line breaks>>

To start with, delete all unnecessary line breaks. Line breaks are places where you hit enter or also the blank space between two paragraphs. Now instead of starting a paragraph by a new line after leaving one or two blank lines, you can cut the need to leave blank lines and start in the very next line after adding a tab. That way you can distinguish that its a new paragraph.

Adjust the margins>>

You can considerably save the amount of paper used by moving each of the four margins about half an inch. Now to do this, you can look at the top of your word document where the ruler is. And to the right/ left side there should be a dark shaded area with a small pentagon marker coming at the border. You can move the pentagon’s position about half an inch into the darker area. Now repeat the same for the remaining three sides.

Adjust the font size>>

Adjusting the font size can also save much paper. If you are on a higher fornt size, always bring it to a lower size. I would suggest 11 point would be very fine. You can save so much of space, its easy to read without difficulty as well. But never go below 11.

You may want to perform a reformat, if your phone turns too cluttered or messy. Reformatting can simply delete every data stored and at the same time, you have all the settings are restored to factory. Also if you have malware threats in your device and associated issues like memory leak, performance trouble, application hang/ freeze or multi tasking issues. Reformat can be a perfect cure if you wish not to go with an antivirus program. You can wipe of every data including the viruses.

Backup

As I said before, a reformat will take off every stored data in your device. So if you have some important data, be sure to create backup. Specially your contacts. Sync the device with your PC and create necessary backup. It should be noted that your micro SD and SIM card are excluded from the reformat, so if you are performing a reformat due to malware issues, better be sure to reformat your memory card as well.

Reformatting Droid

Now to start with the reformat, you can turn off your Droid/ Droid-X. You need to hold the Power button and the Home Button. Now the Motorola logo is be displayed, which is followed by a triangle with Android icon next to it. Now press the Search button to display the menu. You will get a window displaying 4 options, make use of the Volume Rocker to move the selection up or down and chose the Wipe Data to Factory Default option. You can select the option with the Camera hard key and confirm the selection with your Camera key. You will be taken back to the original menu, from there you can select Reboot Device. This will reformat your device, after it is done, you will need to reprogram your phone with OTA updates.

Reformatting Micro SD Card

To reformat your Droid or Droid-X Micro SD card, you can launch the Menu by pressing the Menu key from the Home screen. Now touch Settings then touch the SD card & phone storage. From here chose Format SD card, confirm your action by touching the Format SD card again. This will initiate your Micro SD reformat, which will take less than a few minutes to complete.

It supports multiple erase and write options, in addition to numerous reads, similar to the CD- RW, all difference is in the amount of data that can be stored. One can also say the DVD- RW’s are similar to the DVD- R, but they are manufactured in a different way enabling them rewritable. We basically have two types of DVD RW’s, the DVD+RW and the DVD-RW. Originally, depending on the brand, DVD drives only worked with one of the two types of DVD- RW. Now most DVD drives from leading manufacturers support both. Storage space offered in the DVD- RW is around 4.7 Giga Byte when compared to the older CD- RW coming with just 700 MB.

CD- RW is the successor to CD- MO and CD- R or the CD- WORM (Write Once, Read Many). CD- RW is Orange Book III, where the CD- MO is Orange Book I and CD- R, Orange Book II. The best advantage of the CD- RW is you can write data after erasing the currently stored data and also perform multi-sessions. Although CD- R’s supports multi-sessions but never supports erasing to write data again. CD-RW discs are capable of storing 74 minutes (650) MB of data, some discs support up to 80 minutes (700) MB of data. Once too expensive, but the CD-RW are available in a matching price to CD- R’s.

At times you may want to opt for a complete reformat of your Nokia 95. Most common issue that puts you to this situation is malware programs/ infections. When your device is landed with a few, you can see it compromising on performance, memory, multi-tasking and also show few other troubles like frequent error messages or application hang. A complete reformat is also one good way to clear everything off your phone, if it is a total mess. Discussed below are two possible reformat methods that you can do on your own.

Before you start reformatting your device, it should be known that you will lose every data stored in your phone. Everything including your contacts. Sim contacts will be left intact, but everything else stored in the phone will be lost. So backup whatever you think are important. Syncing the device with your PC is a good choice. To prevent unauthorized reformats, you need to provide the Lock Code/ Security Code to initiate the process. Keep ready your Security Code. If you have never changed the code anyway, the preset code would be 12345. Next is the battery. To prevent any possible data corruption while reformatting, you need to have sufficient battery. A 30% would be fine.

Hard Format

Hard Format a.k.a Hard Reset is a reformat technique that makes use of key presses to initiate the reformatting. Most phones running on the Symbian OS has a standard key press. Its just the same for your device. Switch off your device, press hold the Green Call key, Star(*) key and the Three(3) key and then turn on your device. Be sure not to leave the key press or you may need to start over again. Your Nokia N95 starts reformatting and after the reformat is complete, you can see your device boot the very way it did the first time you switched on. Enter the time zone, set data, time and start configuring your device. It is reformatted!

Soft Format

Soft Format a.k.a Soft Reset is a substitute for Hard format. An easier method to do, cutting off the need to press hold keys. Simply close all running application and programs, come to the Standby screen and press *#7370#. Your phone will ask for confirmation and you need to provide the Lock Code and press Yes. Wait till your Nokia N95 reformats itself and after it is done, start configuring your phone.

Chances are there you might need to reformat your device, if you have some issues. Most encountered issues are malware infection. Associated troubles like slow running device, frequent error messages, memory leak, multi tasking or application hang issues are also followed. Anti-virus programs can help fix almost any such issue, but most cases you may prefer a reformat. You can get your device running smooth just the way it did the very first time. I’m gonna discuss a few reformat options possible with your Nokia N97. Very easy techniques and of course you can squirrel some money in fixing things on your own.

Before You Reformat

I have two reformat options for your N 97, they are very easy and could be completed in no time. To start with, you need to understand that any reformat lead to the loss of data saved. So better connect your device with the PC and start syncing. When you are installed with a good PC Anti-virus, scanning and fixing the threats of your backed-up data is not a problem. Now make sure that your phone is sufficiently charged to perform a reformat. I would say you need at least 30% of available battery. You need to provide the Security Code a.k.a Lock Code when asked to confirm or initiate the reformat, so keep that ready.

Hard Format

Hard format makes use of key presses to initiate a reformat on boot. Now your Nokia N97 lacks the old keypad, so the traditional hard format key combination is not valid. But you can go for a different key combination. Switch off your device. Press hold the Caps shift, Space bar and Delete button, then turn on your device. Be sure not to leave the key press or you may need to start over again. Your Nokia N97 will initiate a reformat now. Wait patiently, and when it is done, you can see your device booting the way it did the first time. You have reformatted the device and it will work perfect as it always did

Soft Format

You can also make use of Soft format to reformat your Nokia N97, a substitute for hard format. This is even a simpler process as no need to press hold the keys like in case of Hard Format. To Soft format, simply close all running applications, come to the stand by screen and type in *#7370#. You will get a message displaying “Restore original settings? Phone will restart”. Provide the Lock Code and initiate the reformat. Just like Hard Format, it takes a bit time, wait till its done and after that you can find your device starting the way it did the first time.
